why spend money on jewellery that isn't 'real'? designs using gemstones are always a superior alternative to costume jewellery and can be an affordable alternative. there are so many gems which are beautiful, and unusual and which are referred to as 'semi-precious'. they look superb set in 9ct gold or sterling silver or strung to create beads.
